Why Look at Latex Mattresses

1. You want a mattress made of 100% natural latex
2. You want a mattress made from sustainable materials, which is firm
3. You want to know your bed isn't leaking smells or chemicals
4. You don't fancy a cotton mattress
5. You want an hypoallergenic, anti bacterial, and anti dust mite mattress where organisms do not thrive.
6. Comfort is a priority, because you have just not been able to get a good night's sleep.
7. You don't want a memory foam bed mattress
All of this is a great reason to consider a 100% latex mattress to get a good night's sleep.
Please remember that because you read the words 'Latex Mattress' on the Label, that doesn't mean all latex is
the same.--It is not.
There is a choice between natural and synthetic latex
You can choose from options.
a. Synthetic Latex which is chemical,
b. Natural Latex
- The 100% Natural Dunlop Latex method which gives a more supportive and slightly firmer
mattress.
- The Talalay method using synthetic latex, making a slightly softer and less supportive mattress.
There are two more options.
1. You can get a 100% natural Talalay Latex mattress but the Dunlop Latex is considerably less
expensive.
2. For those that want a mix of Dunlop and Talalay process mattress, with the firmer Dunlop as the
core, and the softer Talalay top meaning a softer layer to sleep on.
Natural latex is really the preferred option, not only because of its green credentials but for the following
reasons:
- It's cool to sleep on even on a hot night
- No dust mites or other microbes as they don't like it
- It is very hard wearing
- It doesn't get compressed over time, and no forming body impressions unlike a foam
mattress.
- You really lie on top of it because of the natural elasticity, so you can turn over easily so
you get a restful sleep.
Sadly you will find a lot more 100% synthetic latex mattresses than made of natural latex, because they are less
expensive to make.
Synthetic latex isn't that much cheaper than an all natural latex mattresses, but it lacks several vital important
features.
1. Product information from more than one mattress company doesn't tell you that synthetic latex isn't anti
dust mite, or anti mould, plus it has no anti mildew properties.
2. Natural latex mattresses are hypoallergenic and they do not give off a gas smell. Micro organisms just
don't survive because of its organic nature.
