Why could an adjustable bed could be the answer, and why is a flat bed not the answer?

A flat bed mattress is normally coil spring, and this means pressure points, which isn't good for circulation, it doesn't follow the natural contour of the body, and how many times do you get up in the morning with a stiff back feeling as tired as when you went to bed because you couldn't get comfortable. Not every mattress is compatible with an adjustable bed frame. Having said that latex and memory foam are, and coil springs and air adjustable mattresses need to be altered first.

Coil Spring is the most popular, although the coils can be pressure points, so the most luxurious have a layer of memory foam or latex, with sometimes a pillow top.

Memory Foam softens with body heat, and is synthetic, so may give off an odour initially , and the best known brand name is Tempur Pedic

Latex Foam is 100% totally natural , also adjusts to your body with heat, and is hypo allergenic, and breathable in that it is cool in the summer, warm in the winter.

Blended synthetic and natural latex, using the Talalay or Dunlop process. These are 60% synthetic and 40% natural latex, and most of the latex foam mattresses sold in the USA use this method.

Finally there is the Adjustable Air Bed Mattress which is the only mattress where you can preset and then adjust the firmness, normally with a pump but some at the top end of the grange use a patented system which can self adjust. It is possible to get a dual adjust air bed, so that two people can have individual control over the firmness of their side of the mattress. These types of mattress use an air pump, and you need to be sure they are quiet.

Work out online what  you are looking for, certainly a twin adjustable bed frame has its merits. latex mattresses have their supporters, but for my money air mattresses with dual controls should keep the other half quiet and happy!!
